Happy Monday loves! Not that I’m all that happy about it because it means it is no longer the weekend and its 5 more days until it begins again but it is what it is right? We hope you all had a lovely one!
We do drawing, painting, colouring etc everyday but Friday’s are dedicated to doing a specific art project of some kind. Miss I loves to get creative so this was right up her alley. Today (and every Monday) we bring you last Friday’s finished masterpiece. You might be thinking… why not do it on Friday? Well.. it takes me that long to get my shit sorted and to clean the paint off everything so Monday works better.
I have seen this particular one floating around Pinterest and my darling friend Kaboodlemum did one with her wee girl a while ago (seriously how cute are they!!!?) but it wasn’t until my younger brother messaged me and said “you should do this with Miss I” that I finally got my A into G to get it sorted for the little lady.
Miss I named this Stripy Line Tape Painting because well.. I guess thats exactly what it is! She had so much fun helping me position and stick down the tape, painting and then of course, pulling the tape off when they were dry. Her creative juices got flowing, it kept her engaged and stimulated working out where to put all of her colours and when we’d finished, she was so incredibly proud of what she had created. N loved them so much that he found a place for them on the wall as soon as he got home!
I asked Miss I how much fun she had on a scale of 1-10 (we’re still learning how to rate on that scale) according to her- she gives this 8 out 9 robots ! (DON’T ASK!)
Its easy as pie to make these – here’s what we used
– paintbrushes and fingers
– painters tape (the stuff that doesn’t destroy whatever you tape it to!)
Grab your canvases, put some lines down and paint away!
It’s breakfast time in this house and I have a giant cup of tea waiting with my name on it! We hope you have a lovely start to your week and if you’ve done or do this art project with your little ones, make sure you send us pictures so we can see your masterpieces!
