The last 10-ish days in this house have been so busy with birthday’s but also so exciting. Not only does N have a new job which he is excited about but we officially have a preschooler on our hands! Although we unofficially homeschool and have done since Miss I was about 1.5 (and plan to in the future), we thought it would be great for her to have a few hours a day around other kids to make some new friends and enrich her a little more.
The preschool is brand spanking new, only has a handful of kids who are all so bloody cute and the teacher is AMAZING! After filling her in on all of the things we do at home and what Miss I needs, she will work with us to help fulfil Miss I’s cravings for learning. While Miss I gets extra stimulation for 4 hours a day… you will find me in the kitchen catching up on all my baking projects or quite possibly napping! I’m excited for the both of us.
Our schedule started to return to normal on Wednesday and it wasn’t until I got into bed on Thursday night that I realised we didn’t have a project lined up for Friday. Thank gosh for Pinterest– as per, it came to my unorganised rescue. The kiddo loves painting and getting messy so as soon as I saw Funnel Painting, I knew it was going to be a winner.
Usually we would do this kind of stuff outside but alas, due to the rain, we were stuck indoors. I HIGHLY recommend sheeting/plastic to put on your floors before you take part otherwise paint goes errr-where.
What you’ll need
– plastic funnel
– paint (our paint was a wee bit thick so I added a little bit of water to make it runny)
– plastic rubbish bags cut in half to cover the floor.
What to do
Cover your floors, grab your kid, paper, pour the paint into the funnel and get moving about!
You can add the colours all at once or one at a time, whatever floats your boat yo. We opted to go one at a time so we could see how all of the colours came together and marbled. According to Miss I, this is what a fairy galaxy looks like.. I see it kid, I see it! And just like that, you’ve made some pretty paintings, had fun with your kiddo AND covered your floor in paint…. You. Are. Welcome!
(excuse the shitty lighting- dark and gloomy rainy day!)
